George Zamary Response - National Issues
Q. Do you believe that a position on city council should be used as a platform for national issues?
Absolutely not. National issues affect our citizens, but we have other elected offices that more effectively influence and convey local concerns about national issues. City council members should not have agendas (e.g., running for “larger” offices) that influence their ability to effectively make decisions at a local level. I, personally, don’t want a council member making decisions for our city based on what s/he thinks is most accepted nationally. Decisions should be made in the best interest of the hard-working citizens of Cincinnati.
