Justin Jeffre: On 3CDC and the FSQ Garage
As we get near the election, politicians will start talking about their "records." Naturally, most people do not have copies of actual voting records, and it can be hard to know what is true and what is spin.
In my work at The Cincinnati Beacon, I have tried to make my stance on issues public. One issue facing the City, that not enough people discuss, is the role of 3CDC as a private urban planning department.
Below is a video I produced with my friend The Dean of Cincinnati, using humor to ask some questions about the Fountain Square garage.
I know many like the new Square, but that issue is separate from how the deal affects our City long-term from a financial perspective.

Jeffre, the Number One issue in this City is the crime & disorder. The other week it was let out that you had a Neighborhood Rescue Plan. The voters are still waiting to see this plan so they are fully informed when they go to the polls. Attacking widespread economic development isn't helping your campaign.
Jeffre, pay attention. Crime & disorder are Public Enemy #1 in this 'burg.
Incredibly lame. I know you're trying to differentiate yourself from the other candidates but opposing a project that has absolutely revolutionized downtown just makes you look ignorant. Coupled with that amazingly retarded video and you can bet I won't be voting for you come election time.
Have you actually been to the square lately? People sitting around, using the wifi, watching the jumbo tv. A new graeters, Via Vite.... It's light years from what it was.
Reading your other posts it's becoming obvious that you support the status quo that leaves us with a neglected city core and affluent suburbs.
Move to St Louis, PLEASE.
