Go go Gonzales

Add Kentucky’s Jim Bunning to the list of Republican senators wondering out loud about whether Alberto Gonzales should remain attorney general.

In a posting last Friday I speculated that Gonzales might be hard of hearing since he has seemed to ignore the pointed criticisms over his lack of credibility in the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, from such Republican senators as Arlen Specter, R-Pa., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; Sam Brownback, R-Kans.; and Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.

Bunning, usually one of the most ardent supporters of the Bush administration and all its works, voiced his doubts in a teleconference with reporters Tuesday: “I don’t know how long Albert Gonzales can survive as attorney general.” According to the Associated Press, Bunning was asked if he still had confidence in Gonzales. “Let’s put it this way, I’ve seen stronger,” he replied.

It’s time for the AG to stop stalling and take the plunge.

Gonzo might as well stay-the credibilty of and confidence in the Justice Department has been seriously compromised, and cannot be rehabilitated as long as the present regime holds sway in the White House.
Bunnings comment attacking the Democrats for cherry-picking "bad testimony" from Gonzalez is pure political drivel.Anyone else would call his "bad testimony" what it really was-lies.
In the event Gonzalez does become "Gone zalez", Bush could replace him with Barney, another of his lapdogs, or Karl Rove. Rove would be a better choice, because he could control the politicization of the DOJ directly instead of having to go through an extra layer of management.

When even the out-of-touch Bunning realizes it's time for you to go, then it's time for you to go.

Gonzales should resign immediately.

"Bunning, usually one of the most ardent supporters of the Bush administration and all its works. . ."

Proof positive of Bunning's creeping dementia.

I hope the Liberals continue to attack Bush and his entire administration through the 2008 election.
This strategy by Libs was very successful in the 2006 election.
We'll see if the public grows weary of a party out for revenge but one without passing legislation to improve peoples lives. (I know you want to limit the CO2 we exhale.)

Hatred only gets you so far, eventually, the public will vote for leadership that they expect to enact desirable legislation and results.

What will the Libs have accomplished in 2007 and 2008, while in control of House and Senate? We are waiting………..

Anon 1:09 you have accurately reported what the Dems have accomplished:

When Republicans wanted a smaller min wage increase before the 2006 elections the Dems refused. Now with a higher rate, Kings Island could not afford to subsidize Metro worker rides. CHECKMATE

Dems voted for surrender in Iraq. CHECKMATE

Blah Blah on your political Nonsense that only you and a handful of LIBS care about. CHECKMATE

Improve Middle Class Life? I missed that 6 month miracle. CHECKMATE

Global Warming? How many Gore Carbon Offset Coupons Have you Bought? CHECKMATE

Your rhetoric would be funny if we believed you were not serious.

We need a list of Bush accomplishments to make this fair:

Lying to start an endless, useless war costing U.S. taxpayers $2 billion a week while avoiding dealing with global terrorism. Check.

Letting China acquire critical parts of the U.S. economy and assume dominant roles in Africa and Southeast Asia. Check.

Stifling stem-cell research, reducing funding for cancer and basic medical sciences research, and installing a bogus "science advisor" with no scientific training. Check.

Relaxing controls on emissions of toxic chemicals and letting major polluters write bogus "federal regulations" for their industries. Check.

Perfecting "Government by Incompetent (But Loyal) Cronyism." Check.

Failing to deal with Social Security, the budget deficit, energy independence, global warming, health care, or anything else important. Check.

Further solidifying his position as the worst president in U.S. history with every decision made. Check.

In sum, a track record of incompetence exceeded only by the Cincinnati City Clowncil. We could've let those boys and girls run the country for far less.
