A Frankfort outrage

I was going to write a lengthier post about the KY Legislature's failure to agree on pension-reform legislation, but I'm busy, I'm annoyed and Pat Crowley's story describes the details of this debacle.

So, I'll just say this:

Their inability to come together means an unsustainable system will continue to head toward disaster while local governments face costs that may drive some into bankruptcy or drastic service cuts. So, just what does it take to have a sense of urgency?

The leaders of both parties should be ashamed of themselves.

We need to vote out all those clowns. Westwood, Thayer, Koenig, Kerr... they all need to go.

Certainly both parties share blame for this session, the worst in my memory. But the Republicans can take credit for the continuing deterioration of the legislature in those repeated acts of bigoted legislation aimed at homosexuals and amendments to good legislation,i.e., the ethics bill, intended both to defeat it and politicize it. David Williams, Thayer, Koenig and the rest illustrate everything that is wrong with the Republican Party. Their power is so diminished, the GOP such a train wreck, that all they and the GOP can do is put up road blocks to good legislation. Not one accomplishment can be attributed to the Republicans this session. Voters should remember this and vote accordingly in November.
